Name of the country: The People’s Republic of China

Capital city: Beijing

Government: Communist system

Population: Over 1.6 billion

Area: Chinese is the third largest country in the world after Russia and Canada.

Land Area : Over 9.5 million sq km including Hong Kong, Macao, and Tibet

Climate: China is subject to the worst extreme in weather, from the bitterly cold to the unbearable hot.

North: Winter falls between December and March. In Heilongjiang, temperature drops to -40 0C

Central: Summers are long and hot between April to October. But winters are short and cold.

South: Around Guangzhou, the hot, humid periods last from around April to September and temperature can rise to 38 0C - 100 0F. Short winter from January to March. Autumn and spring can be a good time with day temperatures in the 20 0C to 25 0C (68 0F to 75 0F)

Geography: China is bounded to the north by deserts, to the west by the Tibet-Qinghai plateau. China borders with 14 countries such as Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, North Korea . . .

Security: Safe and stable

Religion: Three main religions are Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.

About 6% of the nation’s population believe in Muslim, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism

Language: Mandarin is the main language
